From The Directors:

Hoping everyone had an enjoyable Thanks Giving day. For those who subject themselves to it, hope you and your bank account survived Black Friday.

Chapter G makes a point of reducing the number of chapter events in December because it’s such a crazy busy month because of the holidays. The only regular monthly event is the ROMEO breakfast ride on Wed. the 14th. The destination picked at the Nov. social is  The Original Pancake House located at 16460 W. Bluemound Rd. in Brookfield.

We will again have a Christmas party. This year it will be on Saturd . the 10th  at Anna & Terry’s house located at W154 S7052 Sandalwood Cir. Muskego. We’ll start about 5 PM. If you wish to participate in a gift exchange bring a “White Elephant” gift. Also each couple is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy. We’ll collect them and the chapter will donate them to Toys for Tots, which is sponsored and run by the US Marine Corps reserve.

Thank you so much Anna and Terry for again opening you home for our get together. It’s really wonderful to be able to spend some time in this holiday season with the friends we value so much.

In January we’ll get back to our regular schedule of events. And to what passes for normal in our crazy world.

Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.

From The Directors:

November usually marks the end of our riding season here in Wisconsin. October turned out to be a pretty nice month weather-wise. There were quite a few days where riding the bike was downright pleasant. Probably not going to happen in November!!

By the time you read this the winners of the 2016 Chapter G Circle Tour will have been determined. Since this newsletter has to be written well before the social the actual winners are unknown, but we do know that the $140 prize pool will be paid out.

At our November social we’ll get the mileage numbers for everyone and, as we’ve done the past few years, each rider will get 1 raffle ticket for each 1000 miles, or part thereof. All the tickets will be put in the bucket and two winner will be drawn. The prizes will again be a set of tires. One will be purchased by the chapter and the other is donated by Sportland 2.

Coming in December we’ll have our annual chapter Christmas party. Anna & Terry have again graciously agreed to host the party. Thanks so much Anna and Terry. You’re the best!!

We’ll figure out the particulars at the October social and put all the information in the December newsletter.

AS STATED ABOVE BECAUSE DECEMBER IS SUCH A CRAZY BUSY MONTH WE WILL NOT HAVE A DINNER RIDE OR SOCIAL THIS MONTH.

Wishing everyone a happy and blessed Thanksgiving,

Rich & Sharon Winkler – Chapter G Directs

We are a family organization based in the metropolitan Milwaukee Area. We have been in existence since 1983 and we are one of the largest GWRRA chapter in the state of Wisconsin. Besides our love of Gold Wings, we love to have fun.  You will commonly see our members riding together and doing non-motorcycling events.  We enjoy meeting new people and we accept new members with open arms.  If you have a technical question, most likely someone in our group will be able to assist.  Our activities include safety fairs, weekend camping/hotel trips, winter getaways to fight those winter non-biking blues, fundraisers, dinner rides, and the list goes on and on.  If you happen to be in the neighborhood on a social night, stop in, we’d love to see you.

From The Directors:

It’s hard to believe we’re officially into Fall already. Our summer riding season seems to just fly by. Hopefully though, October will still have enough good riding weather that we won’t even be thinking about putting the bikes away for the winter.

If you haven’t already done so, you still have time to do the Circle tour. We won’t be checking answers and drawing cards until the October social on the 30th. If anyone would like to do it, but doesn’t have the paperwork, just send a quick note or call us and we’ll be happy to send it to you.

The middle part of September found some of us at our annual Fall Fling at Konkapot Lodge near Bowler. It was a smaller group than usual but hopefully those who had other commitments this year will be able to join us again next year.

Those of us who were there enjoyed our time there as we always have. Those who wanted to just sat around relaxing and reading. Others spent some time at the local casinos and made the standard pilgrimage to Nueske’s in Wittenberg for their outstanding meat and sausage.

We had our traditional Friday night shrimp boil:

Turkey fry wizard Tom Ballmann did his usual masterful job on Saturday night. Everyone raved about the fantastic job he did:

We had some great evenings around the camp fire:

100_0181   100_0178

IAs we always have, we spent lots of time socializing and just enjoying each other’s company:

Hard as it may be to believe, there were also some adult beverages consumed:

Everyone there had a very enjoyable time as we always have during our Fall Fling. We’re already looking forward to our Winter Getaway in March and next year’s time at Konkapot.

We’d love to see all of you at the dinner ride and the social this month. Why not make plans to join us and get involved in chapter life.

During August we had a great time at our annual corn roast/picnic. Some members of chapters N and F accepted our invitation to join us for some fun and fellowship. The N members rode down after their social.

.IMG_1470

We had brats and corn and lots of really tasty food brought by all the people who attended. A special thankyou to Tom and Art for all their work cooking the corn and brats.

IMG_1468

Chapter N also accepted our challenge to compete for the Chapter Challenge traveling trophy which they had kept following their win at the bowling challenge in Feb.

Chapter G challenged them to compete in a Jartz tournament and a ladder ball contest. Both chapters competed valiantly

IMG_1474     IMG_1473However chapter G won both the Jartz and ladder ball competitions and was able to return the traveling trophy to its original home.

IMG_1481    IMG_1479

We’ll be doing our best to keep it here where it belongs.

On Wednesday Aug. 17 we also had a dinner ride to Steakhouse 100 in West Allis.

As we do every September, we’re really looking forward to our annual Fall Fling at Konkapot Lodge near Bowler. It’s a weekend where there are no “rules”. Everyone relaxes, goes with the flow, and just has a good time at this beautiful lodge.

We have our nightly camp fire, and lots of good food at our Friday shrimp boil, and Saturday turkey fry and ham bake. There will probably be some Sheepshead played and some “adult beverages” consumed too.

We are hoping to see many of you at one or more of our upcoming events.

 From The Director:

WOW, the summer is just flying by. Seems like every year it goes by more quickly.

July sure was a great month for riding. The weather couldn’t have been much better. Well maybe just slightly cooler, but come December and January we’ll sure be wishing for some 80+ degree temps.

The chapter had a busy month. Our usual breakfast ride and dinner ride, and Terry Werth led a trip down to Pontiac IL.

They really celebrate their location on the Great American Road (Route 66):

IMG_1433   IMG_1446

Pontiac is an old town and they value their past very much Their courthouse has really impressive architecture both outside and inside:

IMG_1458                                 IMG_1463

There were some other very interesting sights in the area, including a really neat old ice cream parlor, a gas station left over from Rt.66’s glory years, and some picturesque swinging bridges:

IMG_1439      IMG_1449                                               IMG_1424                                           Thank you,Terry for finding such a great place to visit. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

On Saturday August 13 we’ll have our annual chapter G corn roast/picnic. The chapter will supply the corn, brats, buns, and soda. You should bring the traditional Wisconsin “dish to pass”.

This year we’ve again invited chapters F and N, but have also challenged them to a Jartz competition and some other  outdoor  contests to see if we can get the chapter challenge trophy back where it belongs. THAT WOULD BE WITH CHAPTER G !!!

There have been some hints that other chapters may be joining us too. Of course, any and all chapters are invited to join us for a fun time with lots of good food.

In addition we have some activities planned that don’t require much exertion, but are still lots of fun.

Coming in Sept. is one of our most anticipated chapter outings: the Fall Fling at Konkapot Lodge, near Bowler WI. Many of us look forward to this weekend all year long.

We hope to see you all at the events we’ve got planned for this summer. The more time we spend together the more fun we’ll have.

As always, ride safe and have fun.
