FROM THE DIRECTORS:

First of all we want to wish everyone a BLESSED CHRISTMAS. We hope you are able to spend some joyful and happy time with all your loved ones.

The month of December is always a hectic (bordering on crazy) time of year. As a result the chapter traditionally keeps its activities to a minimum so everyone can concentrate on family activities. We’ll have our monthly ROMEO breakfast ride but there will be no dinner ride and no social this month.

We got a wonderful surprise at out Nov. ROMEO breakfast ride. We went to Mimosa, a place we’d been to once before and everyone really liked. Imagine our surprise and pleasure when through the door walked Bob Gorecki, our good friend and former chapter director, who moved to Florida last spring. It was a great pleasure for all of us to spend some time with Bob again.

Here in the “Great White North” December isn’t a riding time so we turn our thoughts to other areas, but we still think about our chapter G friends and wish them well.

As stated above, we have been forced to cancel our Christmas party. Everyone is disappointed but we really had no choice.

Starting in January, when hopefully our live again become a little more settled, we’ll go back to our usual events, and hopefully we’ll get to see many of you.

Again, we wish you all a merry, happy, (less than insane) holiday season and look forward to getting back to what passes for normal in our busy lives.

  3. Because the Holiday season is so filled with family activities, we will not have a dinner ride or a social in December.

 FROM THE DIRECTORS:

It’s November. That means Thanksgiving is close and the Christmas holiday is just around the corner. Can you believe how fast 2017 has flown bye??

Unfortunately for us Wisconsin Wingers, it also means our riding season is pretty much over.

It’s time to winterize the bike and put it off to the side, or take it to the dealer if you have it stored there. We won’t be doing any group rides for several months.

However, the good news is that our Chapter G family will still be getting together and having lots of fun with each other.

We’ll still have our ROMEO breakfast “rides” and out dinner “ride” in November and our November Social, where we will pick winners for the annual mileage contest.

On Saturday Nov. 4 the directors will be attending the fall Wisconsin district Operations meeting in the Dells. This year there should be a lot of information to bring back to the chapter concerning the changes to the GWRRA structure that will be initiated starting in 2018. As of now it appears no one is real sure of how it will affect the district or each chapter. Stay tuned.

As we’ve done for the past several years the month of December will not follow our usual schedule. We’ll have our usual monthly breakfast ride on the 13th. Because December is filled with family events there will be no dinner ride and no social in December. We will, however, have our annual Christmas party on Saturday Dec. 9th, starting at 5:30. Thank you to Anna and Terry Werth for again hosting the party. As we did last year, if you’re interested in being involved in a “White Elephant” gift exchange bring something funny or odd, to exchange. As we did last year we’re also asking everyone to bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to the Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” drive.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at any or all of our upcoming events to close our 2017.

FROM THE DIRECTORS:

Can you believe how great the September weather was for riding!??! Can we even hope to come close to such fantastic riding conditions in October?

We have to apologize for the way the weekend at Konkapot Lodge fell apart, but being hospitalized has a way of ruining every other plan. We’re already looking forward to next year. It’s bound to be better than 2017.

We’ll have our usual ROMEO breakfast and dinner rides this month. Breakfast will be at the Country Rose at the intersection of Hwy 45 and Hwy 20 near Union Grove and the dinner ride will be to That’s Amore, which is a favorite of many of our members.

At the October social we’ll be checking answers for the Circle Tour and picking cards to see who is the big winner this year. In a complete change from previous years the chapter will pay the entry fees for all entrants.

Hope to see many of you at all our upcoming events.

In the meantime let’s hope that we can get in some great riding in October too.

FROM THE DIRECTORS:

SEPTEMBER   ALREADY!

How can our summer be almost over? The good news is that September still offers plenty of fine riding weather so we don’t even have to think about putting the bikes away for a long time.

It’s also the month when we hold one of our chapter’s most enjoyable events. It’s time for the Fall Fling on the 15th through the 17th.  As we’ve done for the past few years, we’ll be holding it at Konkapot Lodge near Bowler Wisconsin.

We’re always treated like royalty there and they provide us with a great place to join together for the communal meals on Friday and Saturday evenings (which have become a cherished tradition), and they supply us with all the firewood we need for our nightly campfires. We certainly hope many of you will join us this year again.

Because we’ll just have gotten back from Konkapot, we won’t have a dinner ride in September.

August seemed to fly by, and even though it was a busy month for chapter G it was a very enjoyable one. We had our usual breakfast and dinner rides and enjoyed another annual event that has become a tradition. That’s our corn roast/picnic at Jackson park in Milwaukee. The weather was just about perfect and those of us who attended had a great time.

We invited all the chapters in the state to join us for the picnic and to join in the competition for the traveling Chapter Challenge Trophy. Unfortunately no one from any other chapter chose to join us, so chapter G will keep the trophy for another year.

We want to thank Lynn and Noah Borkenhagen for setting up and leading the ride to Delavan on the 26th, to see and answer some questions about the cool murals painted on various buildings throughout the downtown area. The lunch that followed was nice too.

In October we’ll have our usual breakfast and dinner rides and at the October social we’ll be

checking answers for the Circle Tour and picking cards to see who is the big winner this year.

Hope to see many of you at all our upcoming events.

In the meantime keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down.

FROM THE DIRECTORS:

It’s hard to believe it’s August already. Summer is just flying by. Hope everyone is having a good summer and getting in lots of enjoyable and safe riding.

We had a really nice Brunch ride to Brewhouse 841 (formerly Randy’s) in Whitewater. The weather was great, the route was wonderful (thanks to Terry Werth), and the food was good as usual. We were happy to have Tod & Christine Hellman, from chapter C, join us. We hope they had as good a time as we did.

Our chapter activities hit a true crescendo in August. As can be seen from the list above, we’ve got something planned for almost every weekend this month and also our monthly breakfast and dinner rides in the middle of the week.

One of the high points of the whole summer is our annual corn roast/picnic on Saturday the 12th at Jackson Park site #10. Last year we had a great time and really enjoyed the company of several Chapter N and F members. We’re repeating the chapter challenge again this year and we’ll valiantly defend the prized Chapter Challenge trophy against all comers.

We’ve sent an invitation to all the chapters in the state to join us, so we’re hoping to have an even bigger turn out than last year. It should be a great time, with lots of good food and great fellowship with our fellow Wingers.

We’ve added a ride on the 26th , suggested by Lynn Borkenhagen, to Delevan to check out the Wall Dog murals and then have lunch somewhere in the area. Sounds like an interesting time.

We’re looking forward to many opportunities to spend time with all our Winging friends doing lots of fun and interesting things. Hope to see you all sometime soon.
